Hello Summer! Hasn't this week been beautiful, the sun is shining at last.

Whew, it's been a busy week here at TheScrapbookStore. Our "Paper Sale" is in full swing and the paper bargains are being well and truly snapped up. We've also been ordering lots of new goodies from the thousands of different products which were released at CHA Summer 2007 last month. It seems that all of the companies have been busy creating new summer ranges so keep an eye on the "What's New" section of the store over the coming weeks to see all the new stuff.

Last Saturday we spent a blissful, relaxing day at The Silver Bear Centre in Bawnboy, County Cavan. The weather behaved itself and we scrapped from morning until evening.

What a view!!

Anke who owns the Centre makes handmade teddy bears. They are so gorgeous - real collectors items. It don't know if she made this one, but everytime I walked into the scrapping room I was sure he moved!!

We had three classes. The first was a 12" x 12" layout using the gorgeous new Basic Grey Infuse Collection then after lunch we had a mini book class and an ATC class.

I don't think I've ever had so many cups of tea in the one day. In actual fact, it was hard to tear myself away from the craic and chat to get the classes started. Many thanks to everyone who made the journey and made it such a special day. Thanks too to Audrey, Lainey and Linda who travelled all the way from the Big Smoke and to Amber-Jane who made it all the way from Virginia (not the US one - the Cavan one!!)

Looking forward to our next one on August 25th. If you'd like to book a place at the classes or just come along to do some cropping, email us at workshops@thescrapbookstore.ie

A new banner for the blog - Thanks Jackie!

I was reading Jackie's blog the other day and noticed that she had a gorgeous new banner which she designed herself. Well, no sooner had I admired it than she sent me this fabulous one for my site. Thanks sooo much Jackie, I love it!!

Had a great crowd at last night's class in Whitehall. We did a layout using the new Basic Grey Infuse Collection. It was themed "Things I...." and everyone chose the rest of their own title. I meant to take some pictures but although I brought my camera the three hours flew by so fast everyone was leaving the building before I took it out of its bag!! Everyone was chatting and scrapping away and enjoyed my Mam's tea, coffee and home baking at breaktime. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a great success. Don't worry I'll get the photos at the next one on August 11th. If you fancy coming along email me at workshops@thescrapbookstore.ie to book a place.

We're off to Cavan in the morning for our Scrapbooking Retreat in the Silver Bear Centre in Bawnboy and I'm really looking forward to it. It should be a mega relaxing day and I'm hoping to get some projects finished in between classes. Also looking forward to catching up with Amber Jane who I haven't seen since Crafteire and a little "bird" told me that someone from Limerick might be dropping in too!

Workshops & Scrapbooking Retreats

We thought we'd let you know about our upcoming Workshops & Retreats here at TheScrapbookStore.

As you know, we hold monthly Workshops in Whitehall Parish Centre, The Thatch Road, Whitehall, Dublin 9. Our next two workshops are on Thursday 25th July 2007 and Thursday 23rd August 2007 from 7pm to 10pm. A class kit, tea/coffee and home baking is included in the price of €25.00. If you fancy coming along just drop us an email at workshops@thescrapbookstore.ie and we'll reserve you a place.

"WE'RE GOING ON TOUR" !!!! To celebrate the Summer (not!!) we're holding two Scrapbooking Retreats in the Cavan countryside. If you're feeling a bit stressed and fancy a bit of ME time why not treat yourself to a full day of scrapping in the lovely Silver Bear Centre in Bawnboy (about 20 minutes from Cavan Town on the Ballyconnell side). These all day retreats (10am to 5pm) take place on Saturday 28th July 2007 and Saturday 25th August 2007.

We took a trip up to check out the Centre and it's fantastic. It's bright and airy and set in the middle of beautiful secluded gardens. The scrapping room opens out onto a huge deck area so if we get some good weather it'll be really relaxing and there's some great gardens to walk around too.

The full day package including three classes and tea/coffee all day is just €45.00. If you don't want to do any of the classes but would love the full day to "Crop 'til you drop" then the cost of a crafting space and tea/coffee all day is €15.00.

If you fancy joining in either of the days just email us at workshops@thescrapbookstore.ie and we can give you full details.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned scrapper we'd love to meet you at any of our classes.

Take care

Loads and loads of new goodies now in stock!

Hi again, it's been a while I know, but I'm making up for it now by showing you all the cool new stuff that just arrived this week.

First the new May Kit, called Totally Monochrome:

This is packed with 9 different designs of patterned papers from the new Doodlebug Black & White Collection, 4 sheets of Bazzill Cardstock, 1 sheet of Icon stickers, 1 pack of Mini Rub-ons, Sequins and Mini Button Brads. The possibilities with this kit are endless and the papers are cleverly designed in such as way that you can colour parts of the paper to create a bit of your own unique style.

Check out this advert from the Doodlebug website and have a look at the kind of thing you can do with the kit (you can also use it for scrapbooking LOL).

Gorgeous pinks, blues and lime greens in abundance in the brand spanking Birthday Collections for boys and girls:

If it's flowers you're looking for then look no further. We have a huge range of Primas in every imaginable shape, colour and size. Click here to see the full list.

From Making Memories we have loads of new brads - Jumbo Pebbles, Circle and Shimmer:

Plus Foam Stamps, Chipboard Shapes and Metal Word Fetti.

For the first time we are also offering preorders on the totally stylish Making Memories Runway Roller and Runway Tote.

We think these are two of the best pieces of storage we've seen in a long time. They're both made of beautiful soft and smooth faux leather which is water, tear and puncture resistant. Inside they're lined with black & white polka dot material and the zippers and closures are made of top quality pewter.

The Roller (above) measures approximately 20"W x 14"H x 12"D and is extremely spacious inside. It comes with 2 plastic paper holders and the sections inside can be made bigger or smaller by simply moving the repositionable dividers. The dividers can be removed to make the inside one large space if you prefer to put your own boxes into it. It has a retractable handle (which stands 37" from the ground when fully extended) and double swivel wheels which make it really easy to move around.

I put 4, 20 page scrapbook albums inside the Roller and it still wasn't packed out!

The Runway Tote (above) could also double as a handbag it looks that good. It measures approximately 16"W x 14"H x 4.5"D. Again the inside is divided by removable, repositionable dividers and it comes with 1 plastic paper holder.

The Runway Roller costs €150.00 and the Runway Tote costs €75.00. If you'd like any more information on either item or if you'd like a shipping quotation for one please email me at info@thescrapbookstore.ie

Many thanks for checking in and I hope to see you online at www.thescrapbookstore.ie very soon.
